It is customary to describe the impact of what we accomplish in concrete, preferably measurable results, for example, targets achieved. But much more interesting is the energy, enthusiasm, journey and desire that led to the result. How do you turn those things on? Is there a process or a button for that'? How do you get flow in teams and organizations that want to develop their vision or move their organization to a next level Or future-proof it? And how do you translate that into (sustainable) appropriate leadership and corresponding behavior?

That's our profession at Fresh Forward and LUNAR Institute. And that is a fascinating profession! Giving direction to organizations and people from desire and flow*.

We don't often share it, but... this year marks our 20th anniversary! For us a great opportunity to take you a little more extensively into the peculiarities of our profession where we and our teams may inspire and build people and teams every day again with great passion and enthusiasm.

And since it is a time of lists, we immediately made a list of them:
7 FLOW building blocks and insights we wish every Fresh Forward and LUNAR customer knew about.

A mental state in which a person or a team is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement and enjoyment of the activity.

  • The tipping point
We are at a tipping point in the zeitgeist. And that happens on average every 25-30 years. In case you missed it: it can be found in the January issue of PIM Trend Report and we are working on a new publication to be released in March 2022. With new insights on organizational trends to 2030.
  • Integrated journey to a next level as well as the transformation to a thriving organizational culture
We find that we are increasingly allowed to take clients on an integral journey through our lemniscate: from Strategic Design (Fresh Forward): vision, future, purpose, strategy, to Human Design (LUNAR Institute): leadership, mentality and behavior. Or the other way around: first working on people and team strength to develop a vision and strategy from this engagement. The integrated approach makes us stronger and gives clients extra confidence.
  • The power of inspiration and imagination
Despite Covid restrictions, we at Fresh Forward were once again able to take new clients (physical, online and hybrid) on creative development and innovation assignments. Our teams of Fire Impact and Forward Spaces proved their own creativity with this, including assignments for ELHO, Danerolles and Spoorzone Zwolle. And in April, the new and successful next level highway Retail concept of Shell (which we developed with them last year), opened.
  • Community of Free Minds
It is our desire to bring together the free thinkers and doers of our time in a community where they can peers meet from other industries and sectors. To discover new knowledge and insights and collaborate craft to positive impact. Our community is divided into 3 circles: the Leadership Circle for directors and leaders, the Business Circle for commerce, innovation and marketing, and the People Circle for HR and human development. The Community of Free Minds has grown to 90 participants from more than 60 organizations this year.
  • Three themes for 2022
Each community circle has its own calendar for 2022, but for the first time, we will work on three themes that we explore in depth in each circle: the Tyranny of the NOW, from Growing to Thriving and the Impact of Trust. We will also build on these themes in the livestreams and podcasts.
  • Personal development: guild and Impact
Last year we experienced the pioneering edition of the LUNAR Guild program: where 12 older and young executives worked on their own path of personal development as leaders and as human beings. By looking together from different perspectives, gaining new knowledge and experiences, they brought themselves and each other steps further. An inspiring, deepening journey with beautiful, rich results for all participants. For 2022 Guild-2 on the program and goes Impact-4 off.
  • Leadership in the liquid society
What gets people moving? Often we think it's about pushing or pulling (targets, plans, deadlines). Or to tangible rewards (salary, bonus). This is not sustainable and works short term. It also exhausts people or makes us grumble or stress. In a world where everything changes and keeps changing at once, heading for retention, control and stability is outdated. A different leadership mindset is needed. The many leadership programs, but also the 18 podcasts that we were privileged to make led to new insights about leadership.

THANKS AND FRESH AHEAD IN 2022

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who has been on the road with Fresh Forward and/or LUNAR Institute recently. For trusting our people and our craftsmanship.

Here's to a new year full of inspiration and opportunity!
