New strategies rarely emerge from behind a desk. Those who really want to innovate sometimes have to literally step out of their own environment.
At Fresh Forward we therefore regularly take organizations on inspiration trips. Taking a break from daily practice, discovering new perspectives and acquiring fresh ideas. Because it is precisely outside the familiar context that there is room for imagination, creativity and new insights.
But of course, what we do with clients, we do ourselves. Last week, our Fresh Energizer Els and Experience architect Stella out for an inspiring morning at JenK Catering. An inspiration session that began with something very concrete: an inside look.
Inspiration often arises outside your everyday environment
In many organizations, the agenda is full and the focus is on day-to-day operations. Logical. But precisely because of this, it can be difficult to make room for new ideas. Zooming out for a moment helps.
During the tour at JenK Catering, Els and Stella got an insight into how the company works: from kitchen and logistics to event organization and hospitality. What struck them most was the energy and passion of an entrepreneur who believes in his profession.
Meetings like that are inspiring. They show how other organizations deal with creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurship.
And exactly that is often the start of new ideas for strategy and team development.
Inspirational journeys as an engine for innovation
At Fresh Forward, we strongly believe in the power of inspiration as part of strategy development and organizational development.
When teams visit new places together, explore other sectors or engage in conversation with inspiring entrepreneurs, something special happens:
- people look at their own organization differently
- teams discover new opportunities
- existing assumptions are broken
- and energy arises to innovate together
Therefore, an inspiration trip is never just a fun outing. It is a strategic tool that helps get organizations moving.
New ideas for experience, events and collaboration
The morning provided plenty of inspiration. Not only about food concepts and events, but also about how to create experiences around meeting, collaboration and hospitality.
Ideas that we take back into our own programs and sessions. Because there, too, it's about creating environments where people discover new perspectives, engage with each other and build together to take the next step. Or, as we like to say: inspiration is often the beginning of real movement.
Thanks to Michelle for the invitation and the behind-the-scenes look. Our colleagues came back to Hilversum full of ideas. And we are already looking forward to the next place where we can get new inspiration.
Because one thing we know for sure: anyone who wants to shape the future must remain curious about the world outside their own organization.
