From worrying about each other to believing in each other
About SCOH
Foundation Christian Education Haaglanden is a school board for 38 elementary school; 3 schools with special primary education, 1 school with (secondary) special education, 1 school with practical education and 21 preschools. Each of the schools of SCOH has a unique identity and together they form a colorful palette.
Challenge
A staff shortage and (therefore) too much workload. There was distance between schools and staff and service bureau and between schools themselves. And insufficient clarity about the Christian identity and being a "Dialogue School". There was also too little innovation and too little use was being made of the knowledge and expertise available. Finally, there was a great need for togetherness.
Approach
At a time when pressure was being felt from the teacher shortage and corona, SCOH's schools also saw it as a shared responsibility to provide long-term perspective and energy. Perspective for current and future generations of children, where it is SCOH's desire that they can enter society empowered, resilient and autonomous.
Realizing that in these times more than ever a long-term perspective is needed, that we need to create calm when it comes to the future, and changes now more than ever need a new frame, a 10-year perspective has been chosen
Together with an inspired team of teachers, school principals, sector directors, staff and service bureau employees, the knowledge center and the board, we set to work shaping a future story for SCOH.
Result
In addition to keen insight into the changing world and its opportunities and challenges for SCOH, we translated the strategic agenda into clear ambitions, focus areas, and overarching initiatives, and the values were translated into behaviors, competencies, and new ways of working. And that with an engaged board, sector directors and team of ambassadors.
