The Wadden Museums are now working with a shared vision and concrete initiatives to create a stronger collective. They know each other better, know how to find each other and have a clear timeline for actions. The collective story about the Groningen Wadden Sea coast is becoming visible and 'experienceable'. A process that generated a lot of energy and support among all involved.
About the wadden museums
The Wadden Museums are a partnership of six museums along Groningen's Wadden coast, located in the municipalities of Het Hogeland and Westerkwartier. Each museum tells a unique story about 2,500 years of life on the coast, but together they can make a greater impact in the areas of culture, heritage and tourism.
challenge
The museums and municipalities saw the need for deeper cooperation, combining knowledge and strengths. They wanted to develop a joint vision to strengthen the marketing and communication strategy and make the story of the Wadden coast visible and 'experienceable'. The goal: to be stronger together than alone.
approach
In an intensive and inspiring process, museums and municipalities worked to create a shared vision. Using our Futurise® trend model, we explored themes such as naturality and escapism. In the joint sessions, a new, future-oriented story emerged in which the unique stories of the museums reinforced each other. The collaboration took shape from desire and conviction.
