From worrying about each other to believing in each other
In a region where strength and challenges go hand in hand, the need for young people's perspective is growing. This urgency is palpable in the daily lives of students and teachers. VO Eemsdelta chose a new direction: education that reaches beyond the classroom and connects young people with their environment. The result is a supported vision in which learning and life come together, with the region as an active playing field.
“Through the visioning process, I realized that dreaming and daring are not just empty terms, but the foundation needed to really make a difference in the long run. By daring to believe in something and really stand for it, the dominoes really fall in the right direction. Fresh Forward showered us with a host of examples of companies and entrepreneurs who have managed to turn a dream into something big in this way, and this very thing has given our team the space and confidence to start dreaming for our target market ourselves.”
Anna Kamminga, Quality Assurance Advisor, VO Eemsdelta
Together with VO Eemsdelta, we stepped out of the bubble of education. We brought in new examples, stories and perspectives and dared to dream big. Out of great urgency, we realized that education only takes place within the classroom while we want to help young people in their development and role in society. That insight set something in motion. What happens when you maintain the quality of education while opening the doors to the world outside? From that thought, a movement emerged in which education and the region reinforce each other. The campus became a home base within a larger whole: a learning environment that continues into the region and comes to life there.
We translated that movement into a clear manifesto and a story that rings true and feels right. Young people discover their talents in connection with the world around them. They learn by doing, meeting and contributing. The region grows into a classroom, meeting place and source of inspiration at the same time. This brings energy, pride and direction, to students and everyone around them.
The tipping point was in an insight that set everything in motion: development happens everywhere. There arose space to reimagine education, with more connection, more ownership and a broader perspective for each young person.
VO Eemsdelta is an educational organization with approximately 150 colleagues and two locations. From a strong commitment to students and the region, they build future-oriented secondary education.
Is the question how to get from making plans to real movement within your organization an important one? Claire is happy to discuss it with you.
