From worrying about each other to believing in each other
About Municipality of Central Groningen
Since 2018, Midden-Groningen is one municipality consisting of the former municipalities Hoogezand- Sappemeer, Slochteren and Menterwolde. The request was to evaluate the "start-up organization" with, by and for the employees. Based on the evaluation, the municipality wanted to develop a future perspective, including the handles for necessary adjustments and for further development.
Challenge
Looking back and forward together as an organization and arriving at a lived and appreciative evaluation and picture of the future. We looked at issues concerning organizational and work culture, organization and management, and task areas.
Approach
With a broad evaluation, we looked at the current organization, and then developed a future perspective around current and future tasks. To do this, we used our Futurise®-model. The culture scan gave all employees insight into culture, motivation, pride and satisfaction. A large group of 50 colleagues built the story together and all hooked up one colleague as a buddy. Chain partners were involved and asked about cooperation, service delivery and satisfaction, and the board, team leaders and the registry were involved several times.
Result
- An assessment with the greatest challenges and opportunities in both the external and internal worlds, and answers to the research questions
- A future perspective with four directions with advice: area-based working, internal cooperation/integrity, from supply to need oriented, and mindset and behavior
- An engaged group of ambassadors who are energetically working with the next level organization
